Halloween and Brynn's Blessing

These are a few pictures from Halloween and Brynn's Blessing. It was such a wonderful weekend full of family and fun! Halloween we watched scary movies and ate yummy spaghetti that my brother made. The next day Brynn was blessed by Darrell. It was an amazing blessing! I cried of course because of everything that was said. I wrote down a few things that I remembered and I am going to type them up so she can see what was written about her blessing.
It amazes me how quickly your children grow up!! Brynn is getting so big and amazes me everyday with the new things she learns! She wakes up only once during the night now and its usually around 4:00 am after going to bed at 10:00 pm. Then she doesn't wake up until 7:30 or 8:30. We then exercise together (she lays on the floor and kicks for an hour while I do turbo jam!) and then she naps while I clean and get ready. Then we have the rest of the day to run errands, visit family and play! I LOVE being a mom! Brynn is the sweetest little girl and I just love every little thing I can do for her, even if it means getting NO sleep. I love how she smiles at me and seems like she is about to giggle everytime she plays. She LOVES her daddy and always saves her biggest smiles for him. Brynn is such a daddy's girl and she just loves when he comes home from school.
Life has been amazing, even with the difficulites we are facing. I hope everyone had a wonderful month and hopefully i will get to blog next week when Brynn reaches 7 weeks! CRAZY!

Four weeks old!

I can't believe my baby is four weeks old! She is such a cute little bug and we just love her to death. She has been a great baby and is getting more personality everyday. She smiles at Darrell and I, talks and coos all the time, and even can hold her head up on her own for so long! She loves the outdoors and loves looking at all the bright colors outside! She only wakes up three to four times during the night and eats and goes straight back to sleep. Brynn loves the all the attention she gets from her grandparents and aunts and uncles. She is such a spoiled girl!
I will post more pictures next week that are for her announcements. We have only a few of them done with her tutu because she was not cooperating...lol! Hopefully I will have more pictures up in a week!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

I can't help but smile every time I see this picture! I just love my little girl! These past few weeks have been hard but incredibly amazing. Being a mother is something that I never imagined would be so wonderful (I imagined it wonderful but not this wonderful). Brynn continues to grow and show more personality every day. I just have to laugh at her alot of times because she acts so much like a teenager sometimes. She does this cry that sounds like she is saying "UGH!". It is the cutest thing ever. She also loves taking baths and splashing around in the water. Sometimes she tries to roll off the little bed thing in the bath tub to get deeper into the water. It makes me laugh! She loves her Daddy. Boy does she love her daddy! When he comes home from school or school/work she will lay on his chest and they will watch TV together while I put dinner together. It makes me laugh so hard! Plus she always burps the best for Darrell. Another thing we learned she loves is after you change her diaper and she is just in her diaper she will stick her legs straight up and want you to rub them. If you don't rub them she gets a little angry...lol! She has done pretty well through the night only getting up 2 - 4 times to eat during a 10 hour period. She also just eats and goes right back to bed (most of the time). There have been a few nights where she decided that she wants to play and be held for six hours in a row... Silly girl! Overall being a mom is the best thing! She is such a sweet little girl and Darrell and I both agree that it was one of the best decisions we ever made.

On another note Darrell is doing extremely well with school! He has only not passed one test on the first try (seeing as he missed school for me having a baby and he was SOOO close to passing it the first time). He is working at the same time and then comes home and helps me with the baby and house work. He is such a wonderful person and such a sweet dad! He even gets up with Brynn on the weekends to help me get a little more sleep.

Dance is going well. I'm enjoying my little drive to Price for two days a week to teach dance and allow Brynn to have time with her Grandma's, Grandpa's, Aunts and Uncles. She is such a spoiled little girl and is constantly being visited by everyone. I'm enjoying the time with my Mother and learning how to take care of a baby from her. She sure does know what she is talking about!

Surprisingly I've lost all my baby weight, which ended up being 30 pounds. Most of it was water weight and was gone within one week of delievery. Now I have another 20 pounds to lose from nursing schoool...I wish that would only take one week to lose! lol!

Brynn is being blessed on November 1 in my parent's home ward at 11:30.

Next I just want everyone to really think about getting the H1N1 shot. I have been following alot of what was said about the shot and the Swine flu. I hope everyone takes the time to get this shot. Darrell and I both got the nasal mist and it wasn't bad at all. We got it because we have a three week old daughter and she is most at risk for the flu this season. I hope all of you who have a child under the age of five really think about getting the H1N1 vaccination and if your child is over the age of 6 months making sure to get them vaccinated as well. (Sorry...that is the nurse in me... and paranoid mother instinct)

Overall, life has done a 180 but it was one of the best 180's that ever happened. Life is wonderful! I hope everyone has a wonderful week and hopefully I will have some new pictures up in the next few days (especially for you Sydnee of her in her tutu).

One week old!!

I cannot believe Brynn is one week old today! Time has gone by so fast this past week between changing diapers and feeding and playing and taking naps and cuddling...and so on! She is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life and I'm sure Darrell feels the same. She is such a sweet baby and she can put a smile on anyone's face with her big blue eyes! I'm going home tomorrow to get back into real life, which is semi scary but I think it will be good for me. Another weird thing is I can't believe how much Brynn has grown up in a week! Its weird to look at pictures from a week ago and look at her today. She is so different. I didn't think things would change so quickly. It made me realize I had better take lots of pictures of her because time is going to go by fast. Very fast.
Things are going well with everything else. Darrell is doing well in school and I am recovering very quickly from the C-section (I did teach dance for 6 hours yesterday!) More pictures will come soon when I go home. Have a wonderful week! I'm going to go play with Brynn.

Much Happiness

What a last few days! I cannot believe how wonderful things can be with having a baby in the house. Darrell and I have been at my Mom's for the past few days with little Brynn so I can have some help since I had a C-section.
A few of my favorite things
* Brynn squeaking like a puppy and making cute noises
*Brynn putting her legs straight out wanting them to be rubbed
*Brynn looking all around the room with her big eyes :)
* Brynn sleeping on Darrell's chest - she loves her daddy!

Its been a few hard/amazing days with a baby. Staying up all night with her crying was not fun but that was because she was upset and i didn't like that she was upset. Her sleeping most of last night was wonderful! lol! She actually only got up twice to eat and go back to sleep. She is such a good baby! When I go home Wednesday I will post pictures of our little sweetheart. I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

The Birth Story

Monday September 21, 2009 Darrell and I got a call saying that we had been bumped up on the list of when to get induced. I was going to be number three in the line instead of number six! :) We packed our stuff and called our families. We surely did not know what was going to happen. Around 11:30 pm we prayed about whether Darrell should stay with me or go to school in the morning. He decided that he would miss Tuesday and hopefully she would be born before Wednesday. I ended up not sleeping the entire night. I though I had a bladder infection and was just having alot of cramping from that but actually I was having horrible contractions all night long.
Tuesday, September 22, 2009 The hospital called at six thirty in the morning and told me they had a bed ready for me by seven. Darrell and I headed to the hospital and got there a little late...lol. So we got to the room and settled in. They gave me an IV (which actually hurt) and checked me. I was dialated to a one. I was still having bad contractions so I asked if I could have an epidural as soon as possible! Well they started the pitossin (sp?) which puts you into labor. Now I started having terrible contractions to the point where I was crying and having more pain than I have ever felt in my life. Finally the anesthsiologist came in about 20 minutes later! He helped me sit up and gave me an epidural. I am so glad Darrell was there to hold my hand!!! The IV hurt worse than the epidural! I'm not even lying! Also the pain from contractions were so much worse than the epidural pain. I was SO happy after getting an epidrual. The Nurse Anestitist was my favorite person at that moment! They checked me again to find I was already a three! Which meant I was going fast in labor. Darrell decided he should go get something to eat at that moment and knew she would hopefully be here by that afternoon! Then it all went down hill after that. I started to have extremely strong contractions (which I couldn't feel) but Brynn could. Her heart would drop below 50 (normal 150) during contractions. My nurse immediatly called my Dr. and he came up right away. He walked in and looked at her and said immeditely that we were going to do a C-section. I immediatly started to cry. She wasn't doing very well and her heart rate continued to look worse and worse. My mom called Darrell and told him to hurry back since they were going to take me into the ER right that minute. Darrell was back in like two minutes! We got into the room and by then I was pretty scared. My doctor came up and asked me what type of music I wanted to listen to while they did the C-section. LOL! we decided on coldplay. Then Darrell came in and we were ready to go. Darrell watched the whole C-section and made comments such as "Gross!" "That is so neat!" Finally they had Brynn out. I didn't hear her cry for almost three minutes and I kept asking "Why can't I hear her cry?" Finally I heard her cry! They had been sucking out all the amniotic fluid and she was blue. She started breathing and just kind of wined. They brought her over to me and it was love at first sight! I got to hold her for about two minutes and then handed her to Darrell. He was the cutest thing in the entire world! He just loved that little girl. He followed her around and even held her hand while they gave her shots. Things went well after and we found out a few things! First my umbilical cord was the shortest they have ever seen! She couldn't have gone into labor on her own because the cord wasn't long enough for her to drop down! That is why I haven't gone into labor on my own. Also I have a heart shapped uterus which makes her sit different than most babies. This is why I kept having contractions and nothing was happening! She couldn't drop because of the umbilical cord. So next time if the umbilical cord is too short I will have to have C-Sections for the rest of my life. Who knows though! Overall she is a beautiful baby girl who is loved to the max! She had so many visitors yesterday that it was rediculous! She is a very loved little girl and will be spoiled to the max! We love her and think she is a precious little girl! I will post more pictures in a few days and such but I want to go spend time with my little love bug. :)

Brynn Lee Bennett

Our sweet little girl was born September 22, 2009 at 9:44. She was 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. She has my chin and eyes and Darrells lips. We have no clue where that button nose came from! She has tiny feet with long toes and loves her daddy! Her eyes are dark blue, almost gray and she really doesn't cry much. She's a happy baby and we are so excited to have her here!
I did have her in an Emergency C section (more on the later) but she is doing well and there weren't many complications. I will post again tomorrow but that is all today. I want to go hold my little girl and be with my husband! :)
